
Michael is a Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Tiedemann Wealth Management and oversees all facets of asset allocation, investment strategy, manager selection, and portfolio construction at the Firm.
Michael began his career working for the Tiedemann Investment Group as an emerging markets research analyst. In 1994 after two years with TIG, Michael joined the equity research group at Banco Garantia in Brazil and later ran their sales and trading operations out of New York. In August 1998, he moved to Credit Suisse First Boston, when the two banks merged. He remained at CSFB heading up their sales trading efforts for all of Latin America. Michael is a Founding Partner at Tiedemann Wealth Management and was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2007.
Michael is a selected speaker at a number of financial and regulatory associations around the country including SEC Round Table “Discussion About the Future Regulation of the Hedge Fund Industry” and, “Global Financial Stability Report ” a government sponsored report highlighting his early concern about leverage and counterparty risk building in the financial system. Michael is an active member of the community and sits on the boards of The River Fund and Baby Buggy Foundation both in New York City.
Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Born in Manhattan, Michael currently resides there with his daughter Emma.
